Veronika Peat (b. 1978, Moscow) is a visual artist and filmmaker, based in the UK. Her practice brings together moving image, drawing and printmaking to explore cultural history and fractured identity, drawing on her experience of displacement, migration and re-invention. Through direct encounters with people and places she excavates the sense of self - a process she terms ‘feral archaeology’. The condition of exile becomes a lens through which the experiences of home and creative belonging are examined and shaped in their absence.

Veronika’s work has been exhibited in UK and international exhibitions and film festivals, including IFF Message to Man (Russia) and Towner Eastbourne (UK).

Veronika completed her MFA in Fine Art at Slade School of Fine Art, UCL and the postgraduate Drawing Year at the Royal Drawing School, London.
